Improve your self confidence in 15 minutes
I used to be frighteningly under confident in social situations. And although people who know me now would never believe I used to doubt myself so much I literally had to learn confidence until it became a natural part of me. I can tell you relaxed optimistic confidence is just, well so much more fun.
Here I'll tell you about the things that made the most difference to my confidence levels...
Some people have naturally high levels of confidence but everybody can learn to be more confident
Firstly, it's important to get a clear idea of what self confidence really means, otherwise you won't know when you've got it! So, self-confidence means:
1) Being calm. For every situation in life you need to run on the appropriate level of emotion. Too much emotional 'leakage' into a experience can spoil the experience. You make great strides towards confidence when you begin to relax in a greater range of situations.
2) Being cool. The second part of self confidence is about being able to relax with uncertainty. To be 'cool' in a situation really means relaxing with not knowing how things will pan out. If you truly tolerate uncertainty, you can do pretty much anything.
3) Not being too concerned with what others think of you. You know when you imagine what some place is going to be like before you go there but when you get there it is totally different to your imagination? That's how reliable your imagination is! Stop trusting your imagination so much. I've long since stopped bothering to imagine what others think of me because so often I've turned out to be wrong.
4) Being specific - where do you want confidence? 'Confidence' is meaningless until you tie it to something specific. You are already confident that you can read these words or can switch a light on and off. So you don't need more confidence everywhere. To get what you want in life you have to establish exactly what you do want. Where do you want confidence in your life? Think about the specific situations now and write them down. You beginning to steer your brain towards confidence.
How to remember your dreams at night
A great time to program your subconscious mind is just before you go to sleep at night. At this time your brainwaves slow to alpha and theta, and this helps to bypass your conscious mind.
For instance, in my full research I discovered a way that people could find their purpose in life just by programming their subconscious mind just before they went to sleep...

1. Relax
Many experienced meditators are able to enter their meditation already in a relaxed physical and mental state. Some may still need a few minutes to get into this frame of mind once they have taken their meditative position. Many centuries ago, Indian civilization recognized the power of sound and ultimately created the poetic language of Sanskrit. The language actually triggers energetic pathways in the body, thereby creating states of relaxation, deep meditation, and joyful bliss. All universal sounds are contained in the word “Om,” and some Yogis assert that if one pronounces the syllable perfectly, s/he immediately experiences a blissful union with Universal Consciousness.
Omharmonics proposes that its superior technological advances enabled the product’s creators to record that sound and by simply listening to it on a CD, the participant’s mental state transforms to a near instant “monk-like” state of mind. Having practiced meditation since 1988, how I wish this were so! Unfortunately, I have many doubts.
I listened to the free CD on the omharmonics website, hoping to enter into a deep meditative state of quiet and relaxed contemplation—this was not my experience, however. I listened to the music for the full 15 minutes, not noticing much difference than when I ordinarily meditate, other than finding the music pleasant to focus upon. The music slightly resembled a chakra balancing CD developed by Caroline Myss a few years ago—I used Myss’ CD while teaching Yoga classes.

12 Chakra Mantras To Unblock Energy
Sound is vibration. What you may not be aware of is that each of your chakras has a specific vibration as well – and you can use mantras that are known to be in vibrational harmony with each chakra, with the purposes of opening and harmonizing the system.
Using chakra mantras during meditation can have a very powerful effect. Imagine a chakra as an instrument, and the mantra as a tuning fork – strike the tuning fork, and the instrument will come into vibrational resonance with it, clearing out any energies that do not share the same resonance.
5 Seed Mantras

- SHRIM (pronunciation “shreem”): Its associations lie with the head and third eye. It promotes bodily and spiritual health but can also be used to bring beauty and happiness to one’s senses.
- HRIM (pronunciation “hreem”): This holds powers of healing and creativity.Chanting this mantra awakens compassion and purifies the heart.
- HUM (pronunciation “hoom”): This evokes the breakdown of negative feelings and spreads positivity and vitality through the body.
This literally ‘sets the tone’ for your meditation; then, you can incorporate the healing energies of the cleansing mantras below. Each of the cleansing mantras correspond to one of the 7 chakras in your body.
7 Cleansing Mantras
- LAM: The cleansing mantra chanted for your Root Chakra, which keeps us grounded and linked to the earth. Chanting this mantra will cleanse impurities that can collect in the root chakra – literally opening you up to feelings of security, prosperity and belonging – and clearing any blocked energy that is being prevented from moving through to the other six main energy centers. Chant “LAM” if your energy is low, you struggle financially, you suffer from low self-esteem and you suffer from adrenal fatigue and other stress-related ailments.
- VAM: The cleansing mantra for your Sacral Chakra, which is associated with sexuality, pleasure and creativity. Opening this chakra will open you up to others, give you the courage to express yourself and to embrace change. Chant “VAM” is you have poor self-image, find it hard to open up in relationships, feel unsatisfied sexually and suffer from low libido.
- RAM: This opens your Solar Plexus Chakra, the seat of your personal power. Chanting “RAM” will increase your ability to stand up for yourself, control negative impulses, and exercise greater self-control. Your self-esteem will increase as you chant “RAM” and you will become more confident and self-assured – and your frequent stomach anxiety and pains will subside!
YAM: The cleansing mantra for your Heart Chakra. You give and receive love through the energy center that is your heart chakra. If you’re not feeling loving, lovable, compassionate or experience relationship difficulties, you could use some YAM! Chant “YAM” to heal both the physical heart and the spiritual (emotional) heart center and open yourself up to unconditional love and compassion.
- HAM: The mantra to unblock your Throat Chakra. This is your physical and spiritual voice, your means of communicating who you are and what you need and want from yourself and the universe. The throat chakra governs your ability to express yourself – if it’s closed, you will find yourself frequently frustrated as you cannot voice your needs and desires (closing yourself off to opportunities and having your needs met); and a closed throat chakra makes honesty and integrity difficult traits to embody. The vibrations from “RAM” will open your throat chakra so that your communication energy can flow strongly.
- AUM (or OM): This opens your Third Eye Chakra. This is the center of your forehead and is directly in line with the center of your brain. While OM is one of the most common mantras and can be used for a wide variety of mantra meditations, it is particularly important to the cleansing and healing of your third eye chakra.The third eye chakra (or brow chakra) is the seat of intuition and life purpose. Chanting “OM” will break loose the constraints that you have imposed upon yourself by not allowing yourself to listen to your inner wisdom and using that wisdom to chart the best course for a life of purpose and passion.
- OM or AH: The mantras for your Crown Chakra, the connection to the divine. A closed crown chakra brings about feelings of insignificance and pointlessness, leading to a disconnect from spirit and an overly strong attachment to possessions, relationships and the physical world. Some find that silence is a more effective practice for opening the crown chakra but OM may be used to open it as well. Chanting AH represents a release. Think about taking a deep breath, then letting it go. AH is the sound of releasing and letting go.

As human beings, we all want love. We often say that we need food,
shelter and clothing to survive, but love is also a necessity. Human
beings are social animals and can become depressed if they are left
alone.
Remember the film “Castaway” starring Tom Hanks? He puts a
face on a ball and names it so that he can have “company” as he is
shipwrecked on a deserted island. He does this in order to keep from
falling apart. As a human being, he needs companionship. There are
very few people who are comfortable being lonely.
If you want love, the only thing you need to do is ask for it. It is
plentiful in the universe. You need to be able to open up your heart so
that you can receive love, however.
This is easier said than done. Most of us have closed our hearts,
especially when we are adults. We have been hurt once too often and
are afraid of getting hurt again. So we shut down our hearts and reject
any chance of allowing love into our lives.

In the 2011 film 'Limitless', Bradley Cooper simply popped a tiny pill, and suddenly the whole of his brain power activated. All of those traits suddenly flickered into play.
He was able to blast through work, quickly and intelligently. He could study more and better than ever before. He finished chores at lightening speed. He could come up with ideas and predictions at the speed of thought.
'Limitless' was a great film -- and a brilliant fantasy for the rest of us.
